I purchased this bike from the original owner/builder (the son of a famous Hollywood western film star of the 1950`s) who had informed me that he had lost count of all the $$ he had invested in this bike. His estimate was `somewhere around $40,000 or upwards over the years`. He told me that he had always wanted the ultimate MX/desert bike so in 1970 he contacted Trackmaster Racing Frames (who were famous for their short and long track flat-track frames) and specifically requested that they custom build him a motocross / grand prix desert frame for a Norton 750 motor that would have the longer rake steering angle for high speed tracking & stability. He paid them what was a small fortune at the time and waited forever, as Trackmaster was up to their eyeballs making their cutting edge flat track frames. The wait was worth it though because what you see here is this one of a kind / `only one in the world` frame. Bike started out with conventional Betor short travel suspension and eventually evolved into the bike you see here. He spent ridiculous amounts of $$ on every trick part he could find or have custom built. His budget was unlimited. This bike was raced--improved upon---and raced again until it evolved into the long travel incarnation you see here. I doubt that there is another bike like this anywhere in the world and I sincerely doubt that anyone could duplicate this bike today, at any cost. Most of these parts are one off, and the ones that aren`t are surely unobtainable now. Thirty-plus years later, Trippe came out of retirement to champion another road racing class. Concerned with the spiraling cost of competition, he proposed a new race-bike, one based on single-cylinder 450cc motocrossers that almost every manufacturer now produces. Engine and frame remain largely as-is, and with simple modifications to suspension and brakes, plus the addition of aerodynamic bodywork, a super-lightweight and affordable entry-class Formula 450 road racer is born. As proof of concept, Trippe joined with Troy Lee Designs and Roland Sands Designs to build a handful of F-450 examples from MXer’s from Honda, Kawasaki, and Suzuki. The last of these is this unique Husqvarna, custom built from Adrien Cheyere’s 2009 X-Games factory Supermoto back up bike, so never actually raced. Cheyere won two world titles in 2008. I have a 04 Husqvarna TE450 with Supermoto street legal conversion. Bike has warp9 wheels and hubs. High performance Keihin 41mm FCR carb (runs amazing), full Doma exhaust (sounds wicked), full electric start, Striker kit. Fresh oil change new filters and tires have 80% life left. Clean clear street legal title. Chain and sprockets are in great shape and cleaned regularly. Come with the stock excel wheels that also has street tires on which you could put off-road tires on and be ready to hit trails. All lights work, headlight has low and high beam. 2013 Husqvarna Tr650 STRADA, 013 Husky TR 650 Strada for sale. 13000 miles, just services and running strong. Brand new chain and sprockets. I have only commuted on the bike so these are all highway miles. If you are looking for a commuter this is a great bike, I get almost 60 MPG. It is set up like a small adventure or dual sport bike. With some different tires you could easily take this off road. I currently have it set up with the husky wind screen, skid plate and a dirt bike front fender. It will come wit the parts to bring it back to stock.The rear rack and pelican box are removable. Husqvarna is now owned by KTM. This model and the TR 650 Terra were made when BMW owned Husky. It shares many of the parts with the BMW 650 GS. And has a similar ride to the Sertao. Real fun motorcycle to ride. Sad to see it go.
